Web developers raise alarm bells over AI-driven cyberattacks

A string of AI cyberattack warnings intensified fears the technology would overwhelm corporate and government systems worldwide. Soon after web developers used AI to identify a bug affecting the majority of the world’s websites, Cloudflare noted a surge in attempts to exploit the opening, Microsoft warned that a China-linked hacking group used AI to break into an IT services firm, and commercially available chatbots were reportedly used in attacks on banks.
